Boom Boom Room Concert Recap!

Apparently, people like to drink on St. Patrick’s day! We picked up on that right around the time someone gave the Boom Boom Room‘s soundboard a luxurious beer bath, just before our set. But we weren’t going to let a little technical difficulty ruin our night…4 amps turned up LOUD and a few whiskeys later, we were cranking the music until 2 am. Thanks to everyone who came out and celebrated with us! We’ll keep you posted on our next show in April.

Maiden Lane at the Boom Boom Room on St. Paddy’s Day – March 17th

Way back in the day, Mac, Eric and Brodie’s ancestor’s braved the long and treacherous journey from the rolling hills of Ireland to the gold-paved streets of North America. Now, after years of ancestral baby making, the three stand before you – blindingly pale, a strong affinity for Guinness and Jameson — ready to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with vigor and gusto. Grahame will also be rocking out for the cause in all of his German glory, disguised in his bewildering bushy red beard.

This Wednesday at the Boom Boom Room there will be revelry, music and a veritable rainbow of libations for one and all. Maiden Lane headlines the show, following up friends Badwater and Them Guns. Tix are only $7. Get ‘em HERE or at the door!

(Though completely unrelated, Brodie would like to share that she is also a quarter Scottish and has her very own castle, which she plans on reclaiming as soon as is convenient. When she does, you are all invited to come and stay.) It looks like this:

About two weeks ago we played a very fun concert at the Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco. We some friends a camera, lugged a Mac with ProTools onstage, and recorded the show! We thought it was a great time, and we wanted to show it to you all. Today, we put out “Tortoise’s Song”, which will be featured on our upcoming 2nd EP. Check it out:

Rickshaw Stop Concert Recap

The Rickshaw Stop is nestled on a strange, quiet block of Fell Street, and its only sign is a flashing box in the window, but the crowd still gathered to watch Maiden Lane, Ca$h Pony and 7OrangeABC last Wednesday night. Grahame’s parents were there, and even Mac’s grandma from Santa Barbara showed up.

Maiden Lane played a quick and dirty set, showcasing a few of their newest creations. Props to the sound guy, who killed the mixing, and Rickshaw’s resident mutt, who kept us entertained during sound check. Thanks to Ca$sh Pony and 7OrangeABC for rounding out the night with their incredible talents. We bought one of 7OrangeABC’s EPs, and we love it.

For those of you who made it out, thank you thank you thank you, and for those of you who missed it, look for some sweet live vids soon.

We’ll see all of you on March 17th at the Boom Boom Room, and maybe before (check back for updates)…

ML Update – Acoustic Video, Wednesday Show, and More

It has been a busy week for Maiden Lane. We rehearsed like crazy for our upcoming concert, recorded a new acoustic video, and went into the studio to lay down some tracks. It was so exciting that we wanted to tell you all about it. So here’s the run-down on the latest Maiden Lane news:

We have a new acoustic video out on YouTube! This song is called “Sick Brain”, and it is a new tune that we’ve only played live a handful of times. Brodie and Grahame busted out their acoustic guitars, Mac dusted off his standup bass (with a bow!), and Eric played two instruments. Check it out:

WE HAVE A SHOW ON WEDNESDAY! If you’re in San Francisco on February 9th, stop by the Rickshaw Stop at 8 pm for some great music and all around fun times. We’ll be rocking first, then our friends Cash Pony and 7 Orange ABC will play after us. Tickets are $10, and you can get them HERE.

We are tentatively announcing that our next EP will be out in March. It was recorded this past fall in TRI Studios in San Rafael, and it is being mixed to perfection by Brad Dollar (who rocks). It will have 6 songs, including “Hello,” “Tortoise’s Song,” and “Sick Brain.”

January Newsletter: New Concert and a Video!

Boom Boom Room Concert Recap

The past Thursday’s show at the Boom Boom Room marked the first time we played on a stage with a curtain. It was everything we dreamed it would be.

Thanks to the Song Preservation Society, who made all the dudes in Maiden Lane wish they could sing, and Ash Reiter, who quite simply rocked off our proverbial socks.

Whether you came to see one of us, or because you thought the Black Crowes were playing that night at the Fillmore, we appreciate the support. We had a great time, and hope you enjoyed the music.

December Concert Announcement!

Maiden Lane is playing a live show in San Francisco! On Thursday, December 16th, we will join two of our favorite bands, the Song Preservation Society (otherwise known as 7OrangeABC Acoustic) and Ash Reiter, at the Boom Boom Room at Geary and Fillmore. Both bands rock, trust us. So keep your ugly Christmas sweaters locked away until the weekend, and come out to the Boom Boom Room.
